Hi Rich just curious as to why the change now ?

Some good food out there and your get a variety of opinions, all backing the ones they use so your never got to the bottom of what's best imho.

Ive used Richdon wheatgerm and performance over the years and it has served me very very well.

I have also used the Saki Hikari Growth and Saki Hikari Basic.

These year im sort of staying with my tried and tested which is my Saki Hikari Basic and this will be backed up by Hikari Wheatgerm, then later in the year when temp rise up i'll introduce the small pellet of Saki Hikari.

Alot of the other guys here use other brands and im sure if you dig deep enough in the Members chat area or do a search on food your get some great reading.

Regards
Graham

Hi,Graham i guess i in the search of perfection ,with the growing on pond we all look for better growth for our koi ,i dont know how true it is in reality, but with all hikari there is much less waste as with the present food, i do get a fair bit of waste and haveing to flush 2-3 times a week to keep perams down ,i know the food wont help amount of flushes but might keep nitrate down and help with general health AND of course growth !!

Hi Rich

Saki Hikari growth in the mini pellets for me in the growing on set up at temps in excess of 22C for fish up to 50cm, It does give off a bit of an oil slick but I can live with that.

Below 22C and for the bigger Guys and Girls its Hikari Basic.

To get growth you do need to give them good water though.

Dave

Hi Rich .. :)

Water Quality is by far the Principle Factor in relation to Growth/Health etc with Genetics /Temp etc secondary to this ..

I Don`t Buy into Hype Full Stop whether it be Food Brands/Filter Media etc

A Combination of Good Quality Foods ie those containing a Correct Amino Acid Profile with quality Ingredients coupled with Frozen /Fresh supplements and a Favourite of mine  Vit C (PURE) ;) will Suffice ..

Many make their own Pastes as a Treat and some Apt Decent Recipes can be found Online ..

Tip .. Always Feed Pellet size suited to the Smallest Koi Babe in the Pond :)
