Anyone who has been to mine recently will know i have a indoor Bio Chamber with aerated K1 and a Bakki Shower running.

I'm getting really bad condensation - dripping off pretty much everything onto everything and it is becoming a pain. I've got polycarb over as much of the chamber as possible but it doesn't seem to have stopped it.

Any idea's on what i can do to get rid of it? (or at least slow it down).

Hi greg,

You could either put a couple of layers of polythene in between the roof etc, which will eliminate the difference in temps at day and night time, or possibly install a air circulating fan in to dispel the moisture accumulating.

This is what i use to do when i grow and show fuscihas, in my Large heated green house, and that stopped the leaves getting black spot , and fungi.

Hope this helps, Take care, Regards Paul

Easiest thing to do is try and equalise the temp in the room to the temp of the water mate, that way the condensation won't form.

BTW, want to see real condensation? Should have popped along here in October when the temps started dropping and the pond was still at 20 degrees!

Hi Greg .. :)

Raising the Indoor Temp (should this be Practical) slightly higher than that of the Filters should eliminate this 8-)

De-Humidifiers also help ;)

Would the fan type devices that you have installed in the bathroom assist? have one pulling air in from outside and the other blow out at the other end of the filter shed, giving the room some added circulation & ventilation?

Thanks for the answers all.

I think the easiest fix / try is a bit of insulation and then a extractor fan.

Hope this works as the dripping drives me mad. Plus i worry about the electrics etc. (currently upgrading everything to IP55 or better).

Hi Greg,

I thought your electrics where fine when i was around as they defiantly worked  ;)

Yes give the insulation a go as it sound like the difference n the two temperatures is a bit much what temp is the pond at :?:

Hi Greg

A dehumidifier would help but they use a fair amount of juice, even the small ones are 300w.

Thanks for the extra replies,

Gazza - pond is currently at 21deg C as i'm healing up a koi with a couple of knocks.

Dave - just done some brief "looking into" of De-humidifiers - YIKES! i would rather live with the condensation. Lots of money for anything decent and the power useage is huge it seems.

Hello :D
Yes the condensation can be a real pain ..Having heated cycled koi up to 26/27 over both winters
my conservatory has been in the wars big time...winter 08/09 i lost all my bamboo blinds to damp and mould..most annoyed.
Then this winter having done the same the walls have took a bit of a battering and i have had to clean them down several times now because of damp and mould.. the windows just stream with water.
I have tried using my air con unit as it has a de-humidifier on it too ..but it just doesnt hack it.
By the time i have bought new blinds and re-painted the conservatory i would have been cheaper to heat it LOL
