Afternoon all

I took my second trip down to Darrens on Monday. (Still can’t get over how amazing his set ups are!) The first time was to collect a Bakki Shower and 1 box of media (all I could afford at the time) and on Monday it was to pick up some more media and to see about a pump.

HOWEVER I ended up with:
2x Boxes of Media
1x Aquamax Eco 16,000
1x Spray Bar
1x Measuring Bowl
2x new Koi:

37cm Takigawa Kujaku:

34cm Matsue Gin Rin Ochiba Shigure:

Talk about over spending! - DOH!! Oh well, just means I’ll have to do some more overtime lol. These are my first ‘real’ Koi and an incentive to get the new build sorted! I pick them up in a couple of weeks…. Eeeek

Thanks
Paul

Well i picked them up today... as well as a 50cm Chagoi

Doh, over spending again!

Just over 3 hours later they where home and floating in their bags. As my pond was only 11c and Darrens was 15c. After a couple of hours they went into my new bowl and began to add water from my pond over time.

Not so long after i used my new Koi sock (yes, buying more than i planned again) and released them into their new home.

One happy person!! Although still need to plan and build my new pond at some pont!

Thanks once again Darren for all the advice and taking the time to help me.

Not wishing to pry but how much does one pay for a "real koi". A decent shop fairly close to me has some lovely koi but they are stupid expensive. I know top koi go in the tens of thousands but for your average joe, £700 seems a lot for a 50 cm Isreali Koi and the same price for 35 cm Japanese koi, or am I very wrong. Mind you, all his stock of filters, treatments etc etc are more expensive that many other places I have been. His 5-6" fish are £175.
